Leah Waldo is a creative leader in the online education space. A HGSE alumna, she is currently the Director of Learning Design, Technology, and Media with the Teaching and Learning Lab. Her work involves exploring and thoughtfully integrating AI tools to create innovative and engaging learning experiences, working with a media team to create compelling and creative content, and managing a growing portfolio of degree and non-degree online courses.

Previously, she worked with the Royal Conservatory of Music as the Director of Smart Start to oversee the RCM Research Centre in developing and scaling a research-based early childhood music curriculum worldwide. Prior to her role with the RCM, Leah worked with the online school at Berklee College of Music to develop and execute the online academic strategy and curriculum, overseeing the development of over 75 courses from MOOCs to masters degree courses, resulting in over 3.6 million enrollments worldwide. She has also served multiple non-profit boards including an organization that taught music to at-risk youth residing in detention facilities.

Her deep belief that increasing access to education inspires understanding and community is central to her work. She has worked with Grammy–winning artists and producers, Fortune 500 executives, international non-profits, university presidents and provosts, corporate partners, and esteemed foundations. She thinks about the world creatively, and she endeavors to live each day more creatively than the last.

When Leah is not reading articles on nascent edtech technology or studies in educational neuroscience, she can be seen performing as the Americana country artist Elisa Smith.
