Change Diary

Immunity to Change BookThe Change Diary is a custom tool developed for use on the edX platform to support the “Immunity to Change” process. The tool has been used in three iterations of the Immunity to Change online course, with a total enrollment of more than 100,000 participants.

Project Objectives The Immunity to Change process emerged from the work of HGSE Professors Bob Kegan and Lisa Lahey. Honed over many years of use in traditional classroom settings, the Change Diary captures a participant’s pathway through the process of making a lasting personal change. When Professor Kegan decided to offer the Immunity to Change course online through the edX learning platform, we needed to determine a solution to recreate the change diary for use online.

TLL Engagement The TLL coordinated with the Immunity to Change teaching team and HarvardX to develop a set of requirements for an online version of the Change Diary tool. The TLL contracted the technical development of the tool and coordinated with edX to install the tool on the platform. The tool was used successfully in two MOOC (massive open online course) versions of the Immunity to Change course and will also be used in a HGSE version of the course, titled Including Ourselves in the Change Equation, in Fall 2015.
